Hiphop Tamizha is a highly influential Indian musical duo based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, credited with pioneering Tamil hip-hop and bringing independent rap music into the South Indian mainstream. The duo consists of Rangadhithya "Adhi" Ramachandran Venkatapathy and R. Jeeva. Originally breaking out as underground indie artists, they have since evolved into major film composers, lyricists, actors, and directors.
Musical Breakthrough and Legacy
- The Spark: Their commercial breakthrough came in 2011 with the viral track "Club le Mabbu le".
- Historical Debut: In 2012, they released Hip Hop Tamizhan, widely recognized as India's first full-length Tamil hip-hop album.
