Drowning Pool

Drowning Pool is an American nu-metal and alternative metal band formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1996. The group shot to international mainstream fame with their 2001 platinum-selling debut album, Sinner, which featured the massive hit single "Bodies". Throughout their career, the core instrumental trio of guitarist C.J. Pierce, drummer Mike Luce, and bassist Stevie Benton has remained completely intact, while the band has navigated a rotating cast of different frontmen.

• Formation (1996–2000): Founded by Pierce and Luce after moving from New Orleans to Dallas, where they recruited Benton. They originally performed as an instrumental trio until vocalist Dave Williams joined in 1999.
• Mainstream Breakthrough (2001–2002): Their breakout album Sinner turned them into radio and Ozzfest staples. However, tragedy struck on August 14, 2002, when charismatic frontman Dave Williams died of a sudden, undiagnosed heart condition while on tour. 
• Vocalist Eras (2003–Present): Following Williams' death, the band continued performing by recruiting a succession of prominent hard rock lead vocalists:
  • Jason Jones (2003–2005): Sang on the 2004 sophomore album Desensitized.
  • Ryan McCombs (2005–2011, 2023–Present): The former SOiL vocalist originally sang on Full Circle (2007) and their self-titled album (2010). He officially rejoined the band in 2023.
  • Jasen Moreno (2012–2023): The band's longest-tenured vocalist, fronting albums like Resilience (2013), Hellelujah (2016), and Strike a Nerve (2022).
